James, Christy - Principal, Campus Behavior Coordinator

I am proud to serve as the principal of Shepard Elementary. I was born and raised in Plano and attended Plano schools from kindergarten through twelfth grade. After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin, I returned to Plano in 2002 to begin my teaching career. Over the years, I have taught first, second, and fourth grades before moving into school leadership as an assistant principal and principal. I also have three teenagers in PISD, which gives me a unique perspective as both a parent and principal in our district.

At Shepard, our mission is to ensure every student makes academic growth while also discovering the joy of learning. I believe in keeping families informed and connected, whether it’s through our weekly school newsletter, teacher updates, or social media. Our door is always open, and together we can help every child thrive.
